Assistance offered for seniors events

MEMBER for Tweed Geoff Provest is calling on local organisations to apply for a share of $200,000 to host events encouraging older people to join or feature in 2019 NSW Seniors Festival events.

“We want our seniors to thrive in the community, and the festival provides opportunities for older people to not only enjoy entertainment, but get involved and share their talents with our community,” Mr Provest said.

The 2019 NSW Seniors Festival runs from February 13-24 and organisations are encouraged to plan now, with three funding categories available:

• Tier 1 grants of up to $1000 for small-scale events or activities targeted at community organisations and schools.

• Tier 2 grants from $1,001 to $5000 for local events targeted at larger community organisations.

• Tier 3 grants from $5,001 to $10,000 for broader community events targeted at local councils in partnership with organisations and groups.
