LONG-TIME JUSTICE ADVOCATE PENS BOOK

- LEA EMERY

MORE than a decade ago Renee Eaves’ life was turned upside down when a rogue cop accessed her QPrime file more than 1400 times.

The former bikini model has now revealed the inner workings of that fight in an autobiography, Flirt with Justice.

The self-published autobiography follows Ms Eaves’ journey from being handcuffed and wrongly accused of driving on a suspended licence through to her work as a social justice advocate.

“It’s grassroots and it’s really raw,” Ms Eaves said.

After Ms Eaves won her case against police, receiving a $93,000 payout, she moved into social justice advocacy.

This year she was at former police officer Rick Flori’s side during his trial for allegedly maliciously leaking video of police brutally beating a prisoner.

Mr Flori, a sergeant when the tape was leaked, was acquitted at trial.

Ms Eaves said in the days after she walked from Southport Courthouse, arms raised in triumph with Mr Flori, she began to write about the past 10 years of her life.

The result is Flirt with Justice.

Ms Eaves said the book was a behind-the-scenes look at her decade-long battle with police and how she coped.

“It very much focuses on the self doubt I felt as everything was happening and how I overcome that.”

Ms Eaves said she hoped her book helped inspire others to fight and overcome obstacles in their life.
