WOOLIES JOINS GAMES PRECINCT

WOOLWORTHS is believed to have signed up as the anchor tenant for the retail area at the Commonwealth Games village at Parklands.

The retailer could sit alongside more than 20 speciality outlets, with around 3000 ‘customers’ on the doorstep once the Games accommodation is converted to 1170 rental units and townhouses.

There’s been a suggestions the village, developed by builder Grocon and UBS Asset Management after a $500 million unlisted fund was created, might end up in Middle Eastern hands.
