GUY Zumbo, a Brisbane developer who’s keeping the penthouse in 16-level beachside tower One16 he’s building in Surfers Paradise, has found that view insurance pays off.

Guy, four years after buying a holding on The Esplanade for $7.25 million, paid $358,000 for a unit in adjoining low-rise Monaco.

He was perceptive – there’s since been a failed attempt to buy Monaco to enlarge the site of a planned hotel, a building which would be a view-blocker for Guy’s penthouse.
