Long-awaited Cobaki Estate moving closer

-

THE proposed 12,000 resident Cobaki Estate just 1.5km west of the Gold Coast could be about to progress.

The Leda Group development which has been in the works for decades involves the construction of two primary schools, 5500 dwellings, mixed use town centre and commercial and retail centres.

Last month developers lodged a development application to Tweed Shire Council to move stockpiles of road and soil on the site to be crushed, screened and blended to be made into road base materials.

According to the development application, this material would then be used for the road network on the proposed estate.

The application is on public exhibition with submissions closing on August 1.

Leda Group is owned by Gold Coast billionaire Bob Ell.
