Accused of trafficking
A NSW woman has been charged with human trafficking after she was stopped at Sydney Airport trying to leave the country and arrested by the AFP.
The AFP pounced on the 45year-old on Tuesday, after investigating a 27-year-old Lidcombe man who’s accused of using coercion, threats and deception to force his Indian-born wife and Australian-born child to go to India in March 2017.
Detectives say the woman was involved in forcing the man’s wife and child to leave the country.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 12 years in jail.
