11 babies die in Viagra trial

-

DUTCH doctors and scientists have halted a groundbreaking study into using Viagra to help pregnant women whose babies were not growing properly in the womb after 11 babies died.

Amsterdam University Medical Centre, which carried out the research along with 10 other hospitals announced Monday the study had been stopped after the deaths of the babies.

Doctors believed Viagra, more commonly used to treat erectile problems, could help promote a better blood flow to the placenta and “stimulate the growth of the unborn child”.
