YOUNG DANCER OFF TO CANNES

SPEAKING of young Gold Coasters excelling overseas, we dips our lid to 16-year-old Ebony Murray (above). The talented young dancer has just been accepted into the Centre Internationale de Danse de Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France. The auditions were a gruelling process starting with 40 young hopefuls and then over two days the field was whittled down until only Ebony and one other were left standing. Ebony’s years of training with Queensland Ballet Academy, Queensland National Ballet and Danielle’s Studio of Dance in Burleigh Heads have prepared her well for the threeyear course in Cannes, beginning in September.
