WEEKEND OF WINE SET TO BE CORKER

- BRITT RAMSEY

WINE lovers, raise your glasses – there are more reasons than ever to make tracks to this weekend’s Winter Wine Festival at Sanctuary Cove.

Punters can travel the world all from one place, sampling the finest drops from Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina and the US as well as Champagne from, where else, France.

Event curator Alfie Pardoe said organisers had sourced the best wines, red and white, for the qualityfocused festival.

“There are 450 different wines of offer, with 115 wineries represented,” he said. “It would take a serious wine-lover two days to properly get through the event.”

Local restaurants are on board, some preparing dishes to pair with the wines on offer.

Now in its third year, the event continues to grow and organisers are expecting up to 8000 people across the two days.

With map in hand, wine lovers can follow the wine trail through The Marine Village, stopping in at its award-winning restaurants and supplier pavilions to sample drops along the way while being entertained by live music.

The event is runs 11am– 6pm both days.
