Gun fired in taxi tussle

A MAN will face court after allegedly firing a gun during a tussle with a taxi driver he was trying to rob in western Sydney.

Police say the 23-year-old threatened the taxi driver with a pistol in Old Guildford early on Sunday, after he and another man had been picked up in Yagoona, 20 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, and discharged it during a brief struggle.

The bullet passed through the windscreen.

The pair fled but police on Wednesday night arrested and charged a Yagoona man over the incident.
