Mauk goes from friend to foe for City

-

ROAR recruit Stefan Mauk admits to having a giggle when told that his first competitive game for Brisbane would be against his old club.

“I couldn’t help but laugh when I found out who we were playing,” the 22-year-old midfielder said ahead of the Roar’s FFA Cup round of 32 clash against his former team Melbourne City on Tuesday week at Redcliffe.

“Of all the 31 teams we could have got, it had to be them. “But that’s good. They’re a quality side and we want to play against quality opposition.”

Mauk scored on two ALeague trips to Queensland last season and overall, three times against the Roar in City’s 2017-18 campaign. It’s little wonder then that Brisbane coach John Aloisi chased hard for the services of the former Australian under-23 representative.

An A-League championship-winner with Adelaide United in 2016, Mauk likes his chances of adding further titles to his CV with Brisbane.
