ROLLING OUT THE BIG GUNS WITH SEASON ON THE LINE

- EMMA GREENWOOD @EmmaGreenwood12

THE Gold Coast Rollers have a simple mission for the remainder of the 2018 season – win and win well.

Despite their one-point loss to Ipswich a fortnight ago, the Rollers remain a mathematical chance of making the Queensland Basketball League finals after a stunning win against competition heavyweights Cairns last weekend.

The Rollers remain a mathematical playoff chance if they win their remaining three games – starting with South West Metro Pirates tonight – and have other results go their way.

“All we can control now is to win and win by big margins,” coach Mick Conlon said.

The win against Cairns was Conlon’s first as a head coach and brought up his 100th QBL victory.

“But it doesn’t mean anything if we don’t make the finals, to be honest,” he said.

In tonight’s other game, the Rollers women play South West Metro at Carrara. North Gold Coast host Sunshine Coast at Runaway Bay tomorrow.
