Hang glider falls from mountain

A HANG glider is recovering in hospital after falling from the side of Tamborine Mountain on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Main Western Rd at 11.16am after reports the 57year-old man had fallen and was about 100m from the top of the mountain.

Four fire crews lifted him to the top via ropes.

The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with shoulder and back pain. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
