I was concerned about the problem of escaping out of a vehicle with electric windows if the electrics broke down. Someone told me that if you remove the headrest from the seat in a car there are steel rods to hold the headrest in place which can be used to break a window. So that’s how we can smash our way out. So now I can throw away my hammer which I keep under my drivers seat. No fear of being trapped now. Happy driver

Sydney homeowners are already starting to panic sell. The first domino has fallen. All other national house dominoes come down next. Frank

The Russians are responsible for climate change. I don’t have any proof but they did it. Johnbrew

The person who said if he was mayor he would get rid of mo bikes and fix our traffic lights ... please stand, you have my vote.

Ferries on our waterways is a great idea but one problem especially when they say they wanted to go from Broadwater to Metricon Stadium is it would take way too long unless they got rid of the 6 knot zones. Sadly nearly all the Nerang River is 6 knots now so it would simply take way too long. Mr C

There will need to be parking for 3200 cars at the ferry terminals unless everyone goes by shanks’ pony. Barney

Are you listening Channel 10? Pointless really is irritatingly pointless. Trish

Text regarding spaghetti mince totally agree with you. Horrible! Nanny.

In response to Today’s Best Text for no reasons. If the police don’t like the way you look, you have everything to fear ...

Anthony Mundine eyeing a career in politics (GCB 28/7) ... what the? Does he have any university degrees in economics or any other subject that is essential for such a job? The only retired boxer I know of left with a brain in good condition is Danny Green. I suggest Anthony buy a rod and go fishing instead. Ken, retired truckie.

I can’t wait for the Gold Coast Show to return to its spiritual home in Southport. Having the show and animals in the old showgrounds in Queen Street and Ssideshow Alley in the Broadwater Parklands next month will be fantastic! Jack Southport

How long does it take GCCC to build a foot bridge?? They

started a couple of weeks ago it’s the one next to Tugun Bowls Club. It’s an inconvenience to all who use the doggie area etc. And everyone else . ... Surely it isn’t that hard.

Saturday’s best text, Police are there to do their job not take the law into their own hands and beat people with batons and tazer people until smoke comes off their clothes with their hands handcuffed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Gold Coast Bulletin for exposing such a brute as Vitali Roesch. He destroys magnificent animals & feels proud of himself! A giraffe would not even run away! Cowardice is what he displays.

John Mc, I was told on June 5 this year by API that I could not opt out of flood ins for my contents policy, it was all or nothing! OCKY

Saturday I was reading the Bulletin and eating a curry pie. I was not prepared for reading that Anthony Mundine was going into politics and motivational speaking. I like curry pies but that was too funny. Curry everywhere. Politics I can understand, it was the other bit. Poida. Why should we put a cap on restaurants on the GC? For goodness sake, please don’t! These places get boring after a while and we need fresh ideas and new eating venues all the time.

Why would a clean gym in an industrial area full of polluting mechanics & panel shops need apply for zoning applications? I just closed my business in southport of 24 years & have never paid for any of these fees or even knew of them. Gold Coast City Council should leave these small businesses alone at least they are having a go.

Mudgeeraba MP Ros Bates said bikies are not welcome on the GC. What about the Vietnam Vets MC? They have given more for this country than any MP. MPs giving their family members high paying government jobs is more concerning to me than bikies.

More fines for the CFMMEU. When are these bank CEOs and paedophile priests going to get some jail time? Different rules for different people in this so-called fair and democratic society.

A lot more people would chhose to use the light rail if there were park and ride stations along the route. Also why do we need dual tracks over such a small length of track? The light rail could have dual tracks at some or all stations. It would mean you would not need much more than the centre island that is already there. Also, how about putting solar panels in the centre of the tracks to power the light rail? Dave D
