Stubbies cost driver

-

A PLUMBER told police he had “eight or nine” stubbies when he was pulled over at Miami after a stopover at McDonald’s, a court heard.

Samuel Robert Dwyer, 26, pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to driving three times the legal blood-alcohol limit on July 14 .

Dwyer recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.15 per cent.

Defence lawyer Sophie Dagg, of Go To Court Lawyers, said her client was suspended from driving for 11 months in 2014 for high-range drink driving.

She said Dwyer intended to “get his life back in track” by abstaining from alcohol.

Magistrate Louise Shephard fined Dwyer $1100 and disqualified him from driving for seven months.
