FISHING

TWEED HEADS: Bream in Tweed River in the evenings around rock walls and bridge pylons. Flathead fishing as far out as Fingal and in towards the sugar mill in Murwillumb­ah. Jewfish being caught behind Tweed Hospital.

BROADWATER: Tailor, dart and bream along the beaches, as well as schools of tarpon, giant herring and trevally all feeding on the bait fish west of Sea World and as far down as Mariners Cove.

OFFSHORE: Snapper and other reef fish, including parrotfish and kingfish all being caught. Further out blue marlin and striped marlin still appearing occasional­ly. East of the Seaway at around 48-55m spanner crabs and late season mackerel on the 18 fathom reefs.
