Acid trip ends in stitches

-

AN aspiring aerospace engineer had a terrifying acid trip involving a police dog which left him with nine stitches, a court has heard.

Jye Harley Millar, 20, pleaded guilty at Southport Magistrates Court to obstructing police following an incident at Pizzey Park in Miami on June 26.

He ran at a police car, screamed and struggled with officers, telling them he had consumed acid. He was bitten on the leg, stomach and arm by the police dog.

Defence lawyer Cliff Kroesen, of Kroesen and Co Lawyers, said Millar had visited Broadbeach Police Station to apologise to the dog handler.

Magistrate Kay Philipson fined Millar $600 and ordered a $400 recognizance he entered into at his March appearance be forfeited. She did not record a conviction.
