The number of days between jockey Janette Johnson’s previous ride and when she won on Slydini at the Gold Coast on May 18. Johnson, the premier Gold Coast apprentice in 2012-13, gave race riding away in March 2015 as she battled the physical and mental toll of trying to keep her weight down. “I have always ridden trackwork but had only ridden trials in those years I was out,” she said after the Bryan and Daniel Guy-trained Slydini carried 60.5kg to win. “You have to be in the right frame of mind to be performing at potential and I wasn’t able to do that.

“(This) wasn’t about any major comeback to a career.

“I was just chasing a few demons and putting them to rest. Where I move on to and what direction I go now I’m not sure.I’ll just take it as it comes.”

Johnson hasn’t ridden in a race since her win on Slydini.
