Taggart on Roar target

ADAM Taggart scored his first goal in Brisbane colours yesterday as the Roar beat Wellington 2-1 behind closed doors at Robina.

In his first game since moving from Perth, Taggart scored the winner early in the second half at Cbus Super Stadium.

Earlier, the Phoenix had taken a 1-0 lead via Nathan Burns from a corner. Roar marquee man Eric Bautheac scored Brisbane’s equaliser after being found by Jack Hingert.

Winning coach John Aloisi said it was ideal ahead of the Roar’s FFA Cup round-of-32 clash with Melbourne City at Dolphin Oval on Tuesday.
