Talking-to fired Bears

-

A TAHNEE Norris rev-up has been revealed as one of the key moments that catapulted the Burleigh Bears into yet another SEQ women’s division one rugby league grand final.

A spot in the decider looked at long odds early in the season as the Bears battled for form, particularly while coach Norris was tied up with work commitments. Burleigh sank to fourth place after losing three of their first six matches but they have not lost in 11 starts since.

“We kind of got our heads down and then Tahnee gave us a big pep talk and said ‘we’re going to go for the four-peat, I believe in you girls’,” winger Tarnisha Lyons revealed.

The three-time defending premiers soared into the grand final with an 18-6 win over Brothers Ipswich on Saturday.

The Bears will play the winner of Brothers Ipswich and West Brisbane Panthers in the title match on August 11.
