BRING SHOW HERE

-

FOR the Tweed, Granada should be a big deal. The UK production company’s I’m A Celebrity series is a gift that keeps on giving to the Tweed economy, providing jobs for locals and, through its UK and German reality TV series, gives the region the sort of promotion it just can’t buy.

The people at Granada must also have enormous patience, since it has taken all this time for the Tweed Shire Council – after complaints last year from a handful of locals – to get around to making a decision tonight whether to impose heavy fines for breaches of a vehicle quota on rural Dungay Creek Rd near Murwillumbah. The Brits helped pay to seal the road. You’d think people would be thanking them. But that doesn’t fit with the blinkered vision of the mayor and others. Well, if they opt to fine the show out of its Tweed existence, the Gold Coast is more than happy to play host.
