SURF FORECAST

- POWERED BY COASTALWATCH

A minor reinforcing pulse of S swell shows today and into tomorrow morning, showing most size at 1 to 3ft across northern NSW coasts while amounting to little more than 1ft+ north of the border. Freshening NE winds Friday afternoon are expected to whip up a minor rise in short period NE swell for Saturday morning. If we are lucky we may see some small, although potentially clean offerings within the 1 to 2ft+ range arise at exposed beaches under light morning winds.

TODAY

Small leftover South swell prior to a slight reinforced pulse later. Up to 1 to 2ft exposed northern NSW coasts. Wrapping into southern Qld exposed breaks at 1ft or less and grading to flat inside points and bays. WIND: SW to SSW inshore 5 to 10 knots tending SE at 10 to 15 knots.

TOMORROW

Minor reinforcing S swell. Ranging from 1 to 3ft at northern NSW southern exposures. Mixing with slight ESE windswell at a slow 1 to 2ft at best along exposed SE Qld beaches and grading to nearflat inside the points and bays.

WIND: Light W to variable inshore early, tending NNE in the afternoon and freshening to 10 to 15 knots.

SATURDAY

Mix of short period E windswell and background S swell leftovers. Ranging from 1 to 2ft northern NSW southern exposures, grading to 1ft at best along exposed Qld beaches and near-flat elsewhere. WIND: WNW to NW 10 to 15 knots, tending light N to NE later.

SUNDAY

Tiny S swell up to 1ft+ northern NSW southern exposures, mixing with slight rising NE wind-chop at 0.5 to 1ft exposed Qld breaks and near-flat elsewhere. WIND: Model divergence. Possibly light NNW early, tending N and freshening to 15 to 25 knots later.

MONDAY

Slight, refracted NE windswell up to a junky 1ft+ exposed areas early, flattening out during the afternoon. WIND: WNW 15 to 25 knots tending W during the afternoon.
