MASSIVE OFFER IN SOUTHPORT

GIANT riverfront Southport house Alston was the subject of a $25 million offer well before receivers seized it at the tail end of the GFC, according to a property source.

The offer for the McMillan Crt property apparently came ahead of its completion and long before it sold at auction for $9.8 million in 2013 to transport operator Peter Smith. Alston was built by later-failed developer Graham Spottiswood, held in wife Suzanne’s name, and marketed at $20 million-plus in 2011.
