I SAW

-

in the news that the tiny township of Thallon on the Carnarvon Highway south of Roma in Queensland, with a population of around 500, is surrounded by severe drought conditions.

Without urgent government help, the town will die.

The kindness of one of Australia’s billionaires, Twiggy Forest, is legend, but he can’t fix all of the suffering areas.

The Federal Government should hang its head in shame in not stopping all foreign aid now and fix Australia first instead of wasting billions on unappreciative corrupt countries in Africa and Asia.

The little town mentioned above had a few drops of rain recently, but when a tiny amount of grass grew, kangaroos ate the lot.

Get with it Malcolm and Bill and

rally the whole parliament to action. I would write to them personally but, from past experience, what a waste of time and paper that would be. VERN EVES, TWEED
