Bail after stabbing, cut threat

-

A WOMAN charged with stabbing her former partner in the face with a pair of hairdressing scissors and threatening to “cut his dick off” has been granted bail.

The 40-year-old fronted Southport Magistrates Court yesterday after she was charged with wounding, going armed to cause fear and drug possession on Thursday.

The court heard the woman went to the man’s home on Smith St about 3pm where she found him in a bedroom.

She allegedly picked up scissors found in the room and stabbed him below his left ear, causing a 2cm wound.

She then allegedly threatened him by saying: “I’m going to kill you, I’m going to cut your dick off.”

The woman allegedly ran after the man, who had fled down the street.

Police were called to scene and the woman taken into custody.

The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

She was allegedly found with pills after the attack.

The court heard she is prescribed Valium because she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The court heard the woman had “used ice at times” in the past but not recently and had no history of violent offending.

In March 2017, she was pulled over and was found to have a multi-tool and knife within reaching distance inside the vehicle, the court was told.

Magistrate Mark Howden granted the woman bail and adjourned the case until August 23. the was
