IT took 12 years but Kelsey Cottrell has ticked another major event off her bucket list.
It was more relief than jubilation as Cottrell broke a three-time runner-up hoodoo to claim her first Golden Nugget Prestige Singles.
“I am so pleased to have ticked off a long-time goal and finally lifted that bridesmaid curse,” she said after her 25-18 win over Commonwealth Games singles champion Jo Edwards, of New Zealand, in the final at Tweed Heads.
Cottrell was first invited to the event in 2006 and has only missed one since.
That was while pregnant last year.
