Eagles coach’s bold title tip
GOLD Coast Eagles co-coach Jason North (pictured) has tipped Griffith University Colleges to snap Surfers Paradise’s stranglehold over the Gold Coast District Rugby Union premiership.
North is a former Surfers player but believes the Knights will get the job done in September, especially given their relatively clean bill of health compared to the rest of the competition.
Surfers won the 2016 and 2017 premierships without dropping a game and have only lost once this year, by one point to Colleges.
The Knights however are near certainties to finish the regular season in first place after walloping Helensvale 54-19 at the weekend.
North’s Eagles meanwhile are fourth but have been battered by injuries.
