NEW FASHIONS REVEALED
CABARITA’S Tahalia Savage will join some of the world’s hottest models on the runway tonight at David Jones’ lavish spring-summer season launch in Sydney.
It is Savage’s second show for the retail giant, although her hometown affords plenty of opportunity to hang out in swimwear.
“It’s a really big honour and amazing to watch a show this big come together – the rehearsal, the clothes, the sets,” she said. “I love being in a bikini on the beach and I’m really excited for summer, so this is right up my alley. I still get the jitters before I walk out though.”
Chilly winds yesterday were not deterring fashion forecasters from tipping a sizzling summer of style.
“I love colour and there’s such an array of colour – lots of prints, some sparkle,” Savage said.
She will walk alongside former Victoria’s Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova and seasoned David Jones ambassador Jess Gomes.
While there’s always room for a Camilla kaftan – “they’re so great on the Gold Coast’’ – Gomes predicted classic colour-blocked one pieces would be hot property.
Gomes will follow tonight’s preview with a show in Brisbane this weekend and we could spot her savouring some rare free time on the Coast.
“I haven’t got any plans yet – I may head to Byron Bay or I could go to the Gold Coast,” she said.
