JASON Day believes his high-profile US PGA Championship grouping with Phil Mickelson can boost his quest for a second major title this week.

The former world No.1 is well used to marquee pairings and the enormous crowds the biggest drawcards attract.

Last week played his way into weekend contention at the WGCBridgestone while alongside Tiger Woods in the opening rounds, before fading to tie for 10th on the final day.
