Sinbad. Re: Climate change. There us nothing sudden about bushfires, floods, volcanoes, etc. Yes, climate change is real. It’s been happening for eons. However it’s not man made and not controlled by man and not stoppable. We just have to learn to deal with it. Taxing us for it won’t help. Green ideology wont help either. JB. Nerang.

I wish the council would concentrate on stopping pushbike riders from using the footpath on Chevron Island as the sign says rather than harassing shop keepers in order to raise revenue.

Why not a salary cap on NRL coaches? Rocket

Totally agree with Col regarding the Charles Avenue entry and exit of the Oasis car park in Broadbeach, I’ve had a few close calls being hit by these ignorant drivers! There is a bloody busy footpath in front of you, GIVE WAY!

Mexican hoons, here is a thought, why don’t the police report all hoon activities to the insurance companies who insure those vehicles. Then the insurance companies can cancel their insurance. Then the police should give that list to the banks and the banks won’t lend money to the hoons. Problem solved, no insurance, no loans, no cars, no hoons. Or is that too much like rocket science? Anthony

Ian Timmins and others complaining about plastic bags need to understand that the whole world is surrounded by plastic, our cars, kids toys, food containers and the dentures in our mouths, so let’s put this whingeing to bed. Ken.

I have been visiting and walking Burleigh Headland since 1955 and never once have I seen a koala on the headland. Beware of mischievous, exaggerating, dishonest, petition stacking greenies.

The AFL player who recently king hit his opponent on the field and broke his jaw and 3 teeth should be thrown out of footy for life and forced to pay for all the victim’s medical bills and pain suffered. The only way to deal with violence. Matty, a king hit victim.

I would ask Ms Rowles how those Burleigh koalas are coping today with the thousands of cars, trucks and buses going past them every day? What specific danger to their longevity does the light rail bring? The local.

A Gold Coast hockey team has been playing in Spain for the world masters, but no

mention of their success. They won silver! Well done girls.

Keith Woods (GCB 8/8) I agree that this messing around with pronouns is an attack on a basic right to communicate succinctly. I will continue to exercise my right to say “He is a tosser” to someone who deserves it. Umpy, Ormeau

My husband paid for a lifetime

subscription a few years ago and his RSL card has a expiry date of 2025. Does this mean that he has to be dead by then? - Shezz

The State Govt is to build movie studios in Brisbane despite the Gold Coast being the ‘movie centre’. How did this happen, where were our politicians to argue to have it built here? The Brisbane casino and resort and the Brisbane River cruise ship terminal and now this latest development has serious implications for the Gold Coast. One wonders what the next blow to the local economy will be and who is doing anything about it?

Would it be possible for the Australian military forces to assist our farmers to transfer feed for stock to help build dams etc? They have all the troops and machinery at their disposal. The government seems to help overseas at the drop of a hat but very slow to come to our help whether it be a flood or whatever. When you watch overseas news it seems the army is first on scene to give help.

Yes we need more dams. But it was the great whingeing LNP that fought against the last dam to be built in Queensland. Now they are trying to say it is always the greenies fault. Jk

Ch9 morning show: 85 per cent of Australians are too scared to go to dentist. Not a word about the real reason – dental health very expensive – and Government dental clinics with a rough, third world work quality – cheap and nasty. Ch9 too afraid to tell the truth are we?

You bewdy. Usain Bolt to play soccer in Australia. Stop bagging the guy and encourage his brave hopes of becoming a pro player.

Help please, just spent four frustrating hours on the Telstra overseas call centre roundabout and got absolutely nowhere. How does one get service from Telstra, what’s the secret please? SF
