Bomb blown up in NT park

-

AN active World War II era bomb found in Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory was safely blown up by disposal teams yesterday.

Superintendent Robert Burgoyne said Parks and Wildlife staff found the bomb on the eastern boundary of Litchfield Park on July 30. He said police, Parks and Wildlife and the Australian Defence Force explosive ordinance service detonated the bomb. “Parks and Wildlife will continue to monitor the site closely because they think there may be more in the area,” he said.
