Televised grand final

CLUB rugby’s grand final at Ballymore on Sunday week will be broadcast live nationally for the first time with Fox Sports showing the way in the coverage of grassroots sport.

The coup for the Queensland Premier Rugby decider means extra fan following for University, who have already booked a berth, and the winner of Sunday’s preliminary final between GPS and Easts.

The positive move by the QRU, which has also hooked up radio station Triple M as grand final sponsor, means coverage of the fight for the Hospital Cup will spill beyond the Queensland border which was the historical limit of ABC TV and commercial television.
