DEMON POPS IN TO RELIVE THE PAST

-

SURFERS Paradise and Palm Beach Currumbin may be locked in a tussle for the QAFL title but both clubs have taken time to honour deeds from the past.

Players shook hands with former Melbourne VFL player Bernie Massey before their clash – won by Surfers – on Saturday.

Primarily a full-back, Massey played 102 games with the Demons including the 1964 grand final win. Starting his career in 1960, Massey played his last game in 1967 and famously never kicked a goal. He now lives on the Gold Coast and is a regular at the PBC club.
