No worries for Tyrone at Penrith

-

TYRONE Peachey doesn’t care who will coach Penrith next NRL season and he has one good reason why: He won’t be there.

Peachey was among four Panthers players who faced the Sydney media yesterday as the fallout continued over Anthony Griffin’s sacking last week.

And while they said they were in the dark over what the future may hold at the club, Peachey isn’t the least bit concerned as he prepares for a shift to the Gold Coast at the end of the year.

“To be honest, it doesn’t really bother me. I’m not here next year,” the NSW State of Origin utility said.

“We’ve got (Panthers interim coach Cameron Ciraldo). He’s going to do a great job for us at the end of the year, then I’m up to the Goldie.

“I still want the club to do good. But as long as Ciro is here and he takes over, it will be great.”

Asked how his relationship was with Griffin, who Panthers general manager Phil Gould claimed had lost the support of the players, Peachey said “it was all right”.
