Lee open to a Pan Pac place

SUNSHINE Coast’s Kareena Lee has backed up from the Pan Pacs pool to claim silver in the women’s 10km open water race in Japan, behind American winner Haley Anderson.

Lee’s Dolphins teammate, Noosa rookie Nick Sloman, collected bronze in a tight finish to the men’s 10km at Hojo Beach, Tateyama.

The race was won by former world champion Jordan Wilimovsky.

Lee, 24, was the sole Dolphins team member to back up from the four-day pool session – where she narrowly missed a bronze medal in the 1500m freestyle.
