FROM petunias to frangipanis to bottle brush, the Gold Coast is a gardener’s paradise, according to a prominent horticulturalist.
Garden contractor for the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens in Benowa Kate Heffernan says the Coast’s climate meant we can grow plants from northern and southern climes with ease.
“We’re fortunate in that we have fairly gentle winters so we can grow plants from further north,” she said. “And then plants with cooler needs from further south grow here too.”
