ULTIMATE COLOURING COMPETITION

- BRITT RAMSEY

IF YOU’VE ever wanted to become a human paint palette, join the 8000 people registered for Sunday’s Color Run at Broadwater Parklands.

The event is billed as the “happiest” run on the planet where participants pay for the privilege of being bombarded with an array of coloured powder.

Event director Marcus Gale said there will be four colour zones, and one superzone stationed along the 5km event route at Southport.

Participants will be peppered with six different colours.

“And at the end each participant is given colour packets and gets to throw them up in the air,” he said.

Claire Courts and Kellie Mills from Robina and Varsity Lakes said the run for them is a celebration.

“We’ve both lost a lot of weight over the last 18 months, and we thought we’d do this fun, non-serious run together,” Claire said.

“We had a bit of a taste of what to expect yesterday, and it was everything and more. Pretty awesome.”

Registrations are open until tomorrow.
