For those that didn’t grow up in Australia in the 1950s, our immigrants from the Mediterranean and European countries wanted to be Australians, were grateful, worked hard and counted their blessings to be here. They wanted to assimilate and be looked upon as “fair dinkum Aussies”. Everyone is welcome who embraces the Australian culture. These ideals seem to be lost today and it is causing distress all round. Please, if you come here, treat it as a privilege to live in such a lucky country! KayGee
