Glitch shuts Coles stores

COLES stores across the Gold Coast were shut down for more than two hours yesterday after a “minor” IT glitch.

Shoppers were left stranded and forced to use other supermarkets as Coles registers stopped working.

Gold Coast stores, including at Australia Fair, were shut until the problem was rectified around 10am. Some stores in Sydney and Melbourne were also affected

“We had some minor IT problems in some of our supermarkets which were out of our team members’ control,” a Coles spokesman said. “We apologise for any inconvenience our customers.”
