DIVERTING the wasted water flowing into the ocean in our northern regions has been a topic for ages. Maybe going into massive debt isn’t such a bad idea to droughtproof the central area of Australia. It requires massive infrastructure such as dams and pumping stations. It may take 50 years to pay this investment off, but would be money well spent. Lookout.

Hey Noel hope you enjoyed another All Blacks dominant performance. Coffee is a drug and people demand their hit. Caffeine treachery will not be tolerated. Baristas lift your game. - Sally

Best “SPIN” yet. Reduce speeds on the M1 and you will get to your destination quicker? The RACQ seems to have a strong voice in these decisions so I hope at some stage they promote some of the European driving habits, starting with filling the left lanes and use the right lanes for overtaking only. We seem to all want to drive in the right 2 lanes, often leaving the left lanes with significant space between vehicles. Old Timer.

Australia Post is trialling the new mobile black letter boxes, saw a couple at Robina yesterday. Barney

Uncaring grubs

Don’t forget the Libs have already put an extra tax on the big 4 banks and almost 80% of their profits are returned to share holders which filters through to our super – They are a business and are entitled to make a profit. JS

Gold Coast seaway is 250 metres wide and has an average depth of 11 metres. Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale in the US has an entrance that is 150 metres wide and is dredged to an average depth of 13 metres and has a small turning circle. It is a man-made port and yet it is the 3rd busiest cruise ship port in the world, handles the world’s largest cruise ships and 3.8 million passengers a year. Seems the US can do it and we can’t.

HT morning team said the Honey Badger was like a prawn, terrible head great body. Think of their reactions if he said that about them. They bang on about trolls, perhaps they need a mirror to see their own behaviour. Crystal

Imagine if gecko ran the GCCC. Unemployment would be at 50% and the koalas would have right of way on the M1.

To try and make things not look too obvious and biased,

the Brizoes have allowed the GC vested rich to put forward their super yacht marina plans for The Spit – but the Labor centric Brizo pollies, won’t allow the GC peasants to express their interests for a massive, job/wealth creating

CST at The Spit, until the new mega Brizo CST is almost completed. I smell a very cunning, dirty, Brizo-centric RAT !

Since when has so-called kindness been a cure for anything in politics. Ann Wason Moore is incredibly naive if she thinks being kind will fix the PC, climate change and immigration crap challenging the nation. Real kindness is facing reality and being proactive in ensuring Australians get a fair go in all ways in all circumstances. Even if that means treading on those many oversensitive toes.

Please stop calling a group of hoons a “cartel”. The correct term is a “drivel”.

Mrs Baker I agree that’s why I never go to coffee shops. I make a better cup at home with my coffee machine and it’s hot. John Z

The reason why you have to ask for extra hot coffee every time Mrs Baker is because they don’t want to be sued by silly people who burn their palette and tongue. Not everyone sips their coffee slowly like you do if they have busy lives, particularly if you order takeaway. Hope that answers your question – from a retired cafe owner.

DLS is an issue for people in Qld NOW. Thousands of us weren’t here decades ago when the referendum was held.

Trafficman, re traffic changes on M1. Did you travel on M1 during the Comm Games? I did many times and this slower speed limits during congestion worked well. No serious accidents or stopstart traffic was experienced.

I see a lot of small cafes and coffee shops are going broke. With stools up on the table tops by 3pm it’s no wonder why. Roy, Burleigh
