Wombat not so cuddly
A FEISTY wombat who was in no mood for a pat has bitten a woman on the leg at a Queensland wildlife park.
Paramedics were called to the park after the not-so-cuddly marsupial sank its teeth into the woman’s calf in an animal petting area yesterday.
The 46-year-old suffered a deep bite and was taken from the park, at Woombye in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, to hospital in a stable condition.
“Paramedics described it as a fairly deep bite to her calf,” ambulance service spokesman Mark Fisher said.
