Gentle’s home return

ASHLEIGH Gentle will race at an 11th world championship event after being named in the Aussie team to compete in the ITU World Triathlon Series grand final on the Gold Coast.

Gentle will look to finish a tough season on a high by attempting to defend her title in the Montreal leg of the series this weekend before returning home to the Gold Coast to compete in the final event on September 15. It is the 11th Australian team Gentle has made and her seventh at the elite level.

“Any race at home is something to be treasured, so I am more than happy to be racing again on the Gold Coast,” she said. “When I arrive to race in September, it will be the first time being home since the Commonwealth Games (in April).”
