Kickboxer beats rap

DANIEL Valusaga has been found not guilty of a count of assault occasioning bodily harm after being accused of knocking a truckie out cold in Surfers Paradise last year.

The kickboxer faced trial in the Southport District Court this week after being charged with assault following the January 2017 confrontation.

Vision and images of the alleged road rage attack where Nathan Harris was knocked unconscious in Trickett St were shown in court.

Yesterday, a jury was not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that Mr Harris did not consent to the confrontation.

Valusaga has pleaded guilty to a separate charge of assault occasioning bodily harm after striking Mr Harris’ daughter during the road rage episode.

The matter was adjourned for sentencing on September 10.
