Chris re Your Views - Have you actually been to the spit, I can tell you it’s around 5m deep outside the entrance on low tide for a long way. When will people realise it just won’t work?

When are the police going to crack down on unnecessarily aggressive 4WD/tradie drivers between 2 and 4, mon to fri? - Marco Polo

Owners of big dogs should be made to get a permit to prove they have control of their oversized uncontrollable vicious animals on and off a lead in off leash parks! If not stay away from local parks! Especially the one on Isle of Capri!

From my own experience it is clear that education is a tripartite responsibility shared by the student, the teacher and the parents/guardian. All three must contribute for a good education outcome. Blaming one of the parties often happens to conceal inadequacies in other parties.

If you want change in the political arena don’t vote left or right as they are now both in the middle... more interest their egos or pockets... Turnbull was right with one thing... voters are sick of pollies talking about themselves and each other... send a broom through the lot. BWM

Peter Dutton offers his full support to Malcolm Turnbull then the next day challenges him for the job. Being dishonest and untrustworthy would make Dutton the ideal Liberal party leader. Grey

So Liberals don’t want to see Shorten as PM. They need to change their policies not the leader. They think they were born to rule.

The people in the know keep saying our jails are getting to be overcrowded and letting minor offenders off with a fine. Just maybe if they had to spend some time in an overcrowded jail as they do in neighbouring countries this just may be a deterrent not to do the crime. Gl

Please Dick Smith run for parliament, the Australian people need you. Kris

How can one believe what Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says after his repeated speech he gave after Liberal Party leadership vote. He says 25 million people voted for him. That figure includes children, teenagers and people who are not capable of voting eg those with advanced dementia. So what is the true number of eligible voters? How is he going to reduce energy prices exactly?

The Liberal party is increasing national debt not reducing it. At the moment Liberal politicians are saying generalised statements. Confused. Nina, Runaway Bay

An unstable government, unstable country, this garbage has been going on for too long. One doesn’t need to be Einstein to realise we need unity, especially in government, and we need a different system of governing. The type we have now is a farce. What happens to a family divided? Same for government – it collapses. Innovative thinking, yeah vote for someone else, but same will continue to go on till more people wake up, speak up and out these wolves in suits.

Politicians won’t answer questions, they lie until they are blue in the face, do not care about ‘hard working Australians’. Most only worry about their own jobs. Question Time in Parliament is a waste of time, just bullying and denigrating each other. The Wiz. exporting millions of tons of coal means millions of export dollars and thousands of permanent jobs. You need to join the local green group Gecko, they keep rejecting a CST and a Sky Rail that would create hundreds of jobs. Zac, unemployed 22y/o

I wish there could be leadership spills in the NRL & AFL. Mick

I’ve always been a Labor voter, but never a fan of Shorten. However, the LNP’s infatuation with keeping him out of power makes me think he must have something to offer the workers and poorer people in our community. Goodbye LNP! Mark, Kirra.

Come on Malcolm push the button – refer Peter Dutton Hoy Ma. So what you are saying is no one should be able to buy a snack or a coffee after 3pm, on the way home from work, or doing the shopping after school. 5am and 95% are still in bed. Roy, Burleigh

You Aussie folk picking on your Prime Minister Trembell, Trumble, Trumbone; I can never get his name right. Donald

I hope Pink wears shoes when she is in Byron or doesn’t go barefoot bushman with all the poo everywhere in the reserves where all the nimbies camp. G

Sue. Wanting smokers to stop throwing butts out is like wanting the sun to stop coming up. Noel
