Hawks launch girls side

HELENSVALE Pacific Pines are set to break new ground by fielding the first all-girls cricket team in their history.

The Hawks have committed to entering a girls side in the 2018-19 Cricket Gold Coast under-10 division.

While several clubs had girls participate in mixed junior teams, last season the Gold Coast Dolphins and Southport Labrador were the only clubs to boast all-female teams.

The Hawks are coming off a successful 2017-18 season where they made their maiden first grade grand final.

The 2018-19 cricket season will begin in October.
