Dick, Jamie gain coins

GOLD Coast motorsport legends Dick Johnson and Jamie Whincup are among 10 Supercars drivers to be immortalised in silver by the Royal Australian Mint.

The drivers are pictured with their respective iconic cars, such as the BA Falcon that Whincup and Craig Lowndes teamed up in to win the Bathurst 1000 in 2006. While designed as a collector’s item, the coins are legal tender.

A total of 360,000 coins – 30,000 of each for the 12 different designs, six of Holdens and six of Fords – have been released this week.
