IT’S all ending with a big bang – after 12 seasons and 279 episodes, The Big Bang Theory will air its last episode in May.
Actor Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, confirmed the news on Instagram and said she was “drowning in tears”.
Despite rumours the CBS network was considering a 13th season of the top-rating series, executive producer Chuck Lorre decided it was all over.
The Big Bang Theory has been one of the biggest shows on TV. Seasons 10 and 11 averaged 18.9 million viewers.
Since its 2007 debut, the series has received 52 Emmy nominations and won 10.
