A regular long-term visitor to Australia, and the Gold Coast, I agree with Viv Forbes’ comments that Australia needs low cost, reliable energy; water to the right places via irrigation; less wasteful spending on so called “green issues”; and, of course, a consistent coherent political system that provides for Australian’s needs, not this incessant sniping.

Australia has such bountiful natural resources; its just they’re not being utilised to best advantage. Where’s the vision that once existed?

I can see hard-working Australians everywhere are frustrated and fed up with the lack of strong leadership. The solutions that Viv stated are so obvious, but it needs politicians to focus on them, and make them happen. Who knows, maybe this leadership thing will wake a few on them up.
