Hopeless Ch. 9 - after week of useless, fake news you top it up - with interview on Thursday - with the most useless politician in this country, Sarah Hanson Young. Are you so desperate or stupid? No I didn’t watch it at home, was unlucky to watch it at doctor’s waiting room – so no remote available!

If the captain of your footie team is outplaying the opposition the team doesn’t sack the captain do they? Surely the team tries harder and follows the captain’s example. Bewildered. Former Canberra boy

I asked my dog what he thought of politicians, he looked me in the eye, shook his head and walked away. GJ

“Never trust a copper past or present” - I had drummed into me by all the old brickies when I was a kid learning to lay bricks over 50 years ago. Now I’m an old brickie and it seems that nothing has changed between then and now except less money. M

Just a thought. If you’ve got any plastic bags laying around, it is strongly advised to get rid of them immediately to prevent council charges, as are the current rules and regulations of getting rid of asbestos. LS

Re: Ken Wade Your Views 23/8. Ken before you go and publicly attack someone as you have in your letter regarding Gecko and Lois Levy you need to get the facts right! Soft Labor politicians didn’t defunct any proposed CST. Independent studies requested by Peter Beattie – who was by the way keen as for a CST – and the facts they provided did so. I notice you left Campbell Newman out. His LNP government were all for a CST and pulled the pin as well. I also note you left out the LNP politicians like Seeney and co who protested against a proposed CST. Also the majority of public are against it. Get the facts 1st before making such accusations. Radish

A former QLD copper as PM? Now we are in serious trouble. MK, Kirra

I couldn’t care less if the Prime Minister had two heads, just get him to do the job, look after the Australian people and have sensible policies in place which at this moment are not happening. KP

Here’s 3 clubs destined to fail again, the Pies, Port and Penrith, all with outspoken prima donna presidents who think they are bigger than the game, clubs and players.

Zac. I was trying to point out what hypocrites we have in government. We should have coal fired power stations in

every State – it is the only reliable power source and it should be a lot cheaper. Barney

These international corporations are sucking billions out of Australia making a few rich pigs get richer, they’ve been busy cornering markets for decades, food, hardware, oil, gambling and people like Turnbull let them do it. Australia

needs people in government focused on Australia, international business people aren’t to be trusted, they’re all about greed. Turnbull wasn’t put there for nothing. He’s one of these people looking after his own greedy lot, rich get richer more powerful while the other 99% are deceived. The big international corps need to pay higher taxes so some of the money is kept here and used well. Libs are out next election, Good.

You lost by 13 votes Dutton, the hypocrites have emerged, you now want a second bite of the apple. Suck it up I say.

A big shoutout and grateful thanks to the ambos, from the guy in the bathroom with a dislocated hip. xoxo

Bring on an election. These people can’t govern themselves let alone our country. Steve

Good to see new bars and cafes opening in Surfers. Bankruptcy is nothing to be ashamed of. The main thing is you have a go. - Kelly

How can we stop climate change alarmists from spouting their diabolical, dishonest claims of doom. They are either too stupid or too leftie loopy to admit all of their predictions for decades have been so patently wrong.

After reading the legal advice to the Labor Party off Brett Walker QC regarding the eligibility of Peter Dutton to sit in the 45th Australian Parliament (source: the Guardian) I would suggest that the Member for Dickson be referred immediately to the High Court to test his eligibility furthermore the validity of all of his decisions as a Minister are now gravely in doubt and I would respectfully remind you of the people who have died in detention, the children in jail, the people who have been extra judicially punished and deported and locked up in arbitrary detention with no date set for appeal and the punishment of all people who classify as refugees.
