NE windswell gradually eases. Around 2 to 3ft exposed Qld coasts early, fading later. Underpinne­d by small S groundswel­l around 2ft across northern NSW south facing beaches. WIND: Early light WSW tending light S to SE or variable in the afternoon.

TOMORROW

Leftover NE swell superseded by new S swell. Potentiall­y 3 to 4ft across northern NSW south facing coasts, bumping up later. Mixing with leftover NE swell at 1 to 2ft+ exposed Qld breaks. WIND: Early WSW to SW 5 to 15 knots tending variable to light easterly sea-breezes in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY

Potential for solid, mid-period SSE swell. Speculativ­ely 3 to 4ft+ northern NSW southern exposures, grading to 2 to 3ft open areas and easing later. Scope for 1 to 3ft sets wrapping into exposed southern Qld beaches, 1 to 2ft elsewhere. WIND: Early light WSW to SSW 10 to 15 knots, tending light SE to ESE 5 to 15 knots later.
